Lavender in Sunshine

Recently, the lavender’s been lovely.

It’s scent is, and it’s sent it

Billowing across my senses

Like a wave over a rocky outcrop

In the sea. While summer

Still is here and the watery

Skies are blue, I’ll go outside

And view the flowers, take

Their powers of beauty and

Enjoy them, sharing what I can

In words. The sight’s enough to

Quell a storm of high emotion,

Or to stir a passive heart to love.

I’d share more than devotion

To qualify the notion that our

Unity is greater when we see

That all flowers grow, beautifully.
